THE CRADLE SNATCHER: READ ALL ABOUT IT
Updated: Jul 31
An ENIGMATIC antihero from Neverland in Shadow is now celebrated in a FANCY new PDF...
Into the final third of the Neverland in Shadow story enters the Cradle Snatcher.
This mysterious character rails against authority:
Across London, revered statues are rendered ridiculous
The gates of Buckingham Palace are breached
And thanks to a series of thefts - of prams and nursery items - the tabloids provide a sensational name for the culprit whilst whipping up outrage and suspicion
The London Trumpeter breaks the story...
TABLOID TITTLE-TATTLE
The new PDF version of Neverland in Shadow, unhampered by the largely text-only limitations of e-reader files, now includes thirteen designed-up newspaper front pages. These cover the Cradle Snatcher’s brief but memorable reign. They were fun to put together and are really impactful.
...then more and more titles run with it
Added to these are nicer-looking chapter headings...
...and - all-new - a fastidious addendum
This lists places, people and points of interest connected one way or another with the story. For example:

...AND ENJOY SOME TOP POP TOO
As is this blog’s way, we simply have to find a route to somehow include a song on most posts.
So in honour of the Cradle Snatcher, here’s a list, in no order whatsoever, of ten fine baby-titles songs.
You can play one right here, and listen to the full list - named after the lullaby Rock-a-Bye-Baby - on Spotify.
“Because I’m Really Not There”
Not My Baby is found on Antisocialites - Alvvays’ ace second LP, which hit the racks in 2017. A standout on an album of corkers.it’s a haunting shrug-response from the perspective of a dumped partner.
Now that you're not my baby
I'll go do whatever I want
No need to turn around to see what's behind me
I don't care
And it's true, I've been checking out lately
I go do whatever I want
No need to turn around to see what's behind me
I don't care
Because I'm really not there
I'm really not there
And now that you're not my baby
I'll go do whatever I want
No need to sit at home with the dial tone
'Cause I don't care
And it's true, I've been going out lately
And I go do whatever I want
You can write it down with a fountain pen
Close your eyes and then count to ten
You can tell your friends that I don't make sense
And I don't care
Because I'm really not there
I'm really not there
The night is like a fading radio
The lake was frozen over long ago
Now that you're not my baby (Now you're not)
Now that you're not my baby (Now you're not)
You sought an eye
So did I for an island
You sought an eye
So did I for an eye
Traded my rose-coloured shades for a wide lens
Used to make noise, now, I much prefer silence
Now that you're not my baby (Now you're not)
Now that you're not my baby (Now you're not)
Now that you're not my baby (Now you're not)
Now that you're not my baby (Now you're not)
I feel alive for the first time
Since I don't know how long
I see a light for the first time
Since I don't know how long
